Sure, you can say every Wes Anderson movie is a feast for the eyes due to all its meticulously arranged aesthetic goodness, but there’s something all too special about Moonrise Kingdom. It’s Anderson through and through, every quirk in just the right place, but it’s also just the perfect embodiment of childhood adventure and imagination.

All the fantasies that come with being a kid, the rocky road of getting older, and the weird ways we try to interpret and act upon what the adults around us are feeling – that’s what Moonrise Kingdom is about and what makes it so cussing accessible to anyone willing to enjoy the ride.

All of that is exactly what makes us love it.

So what about you? Are your favorite movies of 2012 the same now that 2013 is almost over? Which movies would you vote for?
