Diego Luna’s Cesar Chavez: An American Hero Trailer

The first trailer for Cesar Chavez: American Hero has been released online.

Directed by Diego Luna and written by Keir Pearson (Hotel Rwanda), Cesar Chavez: American Hero stars Michael Peña as Cesar E. Chavez, the man who organized the largest non-violent protest in U.S. history to accomplish his goal of obtaining basic human rights for over 50,000 farm workers in California. And obviously, it’s a struggle that got him in no shortage of hot water.

The cast includes Rosario Dawson, America Ferrera and John Malkovich, who also serves as one of the film’s producers along with Gael García Bernal.

Cesar Chavez: American Hero marks Luna’s third shot at directing a feature film after J.C. Chavez (a documentary film about the boxer) and Abel and it is scheduled to premiere on April 04, 2014.
