The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Brilliant yet no fantastic

MONDAY

Since it was April’s Fool, I had to check the validity of every single piece of news I got. That was fun~

First, reports and pictures from the Hobbitcon in Bonn, Germany, courtesy of Tumblr! where they had actors from The Hobbit, and apparently it was made of awesome. Just look at this flawless mofos singing Misty Mountains:

Oh yeah, that book that appeared on Doctor Who‘s latest episode? BBC is totally going to sell it as they sold The Angel’s Kiss: A Melody Malone Story. So, from April 4th, you can buy Doctor Who: Summer Falls too!

Taking about Doctor Who, they had their first read-through of the 50th Anniversary special, and here we have a couple of pics that feature David Tennant and Matt Smith. Yay!

Clark Gregg keeps being cute about his role in S.H.I.E.L.D.

I’m not going to lie.  It was a little frightening.  I’m used to coming in and doing my scene.  And letting Robert and Scarlett do their thing, and then going back to the trailer.  And now it’s, “Where’s Robert?  I need someone really beautiful like Scarlett standing right here!”  No one is going to want to look at this mug for that long.

James McAvoy talks some about his portrayal of Professor X and how it’s not yet the same point in life as Patrick Stewarts’ Professor X:

We’re not in the same place that we were in the first movie with Charles — a very different place from there. But we’re also still on a very different place from where Patrick was in the other movies.

A movie about Kitty Pryde? Is this the real life or is this April’s Fool joke. I can’t even tell! Well, that actually could be kind of cool. Although of all the Marvel heroines or even female X-men alon, Shadowcat is definitely not the first that comes to mind when making a solo movie. Well, I’m here for that if it happens, anyway!

The Walking Dead finale keeps breaking records! Also, David Morrissey (that dick Governor) is definitely back for another season.

Another one that got great ratings was Game of Thrones! And here’s a featurette about season 3 episode 1!

WonderCon gave us some more news. Evil Dead remake will get a sequel a Sam Raimi is thinking about a new Army of Darkness follow-up. And even more! There would be another movie after those two films that would be a final crossover… nice!

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods did very well box-office speaking! 7 million dollars in two days in Japan! Good enouh to get 5th place at international box office!

Come on, Fox, show it around! Otakus all around need it!

  1. If I was Guillermo del Toro, I’d be geeking out about an Alex Ross comic book cover of one of my works too!
