The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Brilliant yet no fantastic

FRIDAY

Sadly, Christopher Eccleston won’t be in the 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who.

Chris met with Steven Moffat a couple of times to talk about Steven’s plans for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary episode. After careful thought, Chris decided not to be in the episode. He wishes the team all the best.

Well, that doesn’t sound promising.

We’ll get a new Star Wars animated series! No news what it will be about. Some people hope for a continuation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. As for myself, I want something entirely different. Could it be something to join the new trilogy with the original one?

Vikings gets a second season and I’m am grinning from ear to ear! Yes, thank Odin! Even if Odin’s a dick.

Jessica Chastain will also be in the new Guillermo del Toro movie, Crimson Peak! She might also be Jane in the new Tarzan movie.

Another one who might be in Tarzan is Alexander Skarsgård as the titular character. He ain’t so sure, though. Dude, having indie projects is nice and all, but you gotta eat, so take that Hollywood money! He likes the idea about working with David Yates, so there is that.

He’s arguably one of the greatest directors out there. He’s a phenomenal, very intelligent guy, an amazing director.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz in Broadway for Betrayal! I care because I love them together~

Hanz Zimmermann talks about composing for Man of Steel. He’s also kinda intimidated about taking up John Williams’ mantle.

He’s the greatest film composer out there, without a doubt, and it happens to be one of his iconic pieces of music, so I spent three months just procrastinating and not even getting a start on the thing, because I was so intimidated: ‘Oh my God, I’m following in John Williams’ footsteps.

Talking about scores, Iron Man 3‘s seems to be awesome~

Suffice it to say, those things you loved best from the scores of The Dark Knight, The Amazing Spider-Man, and even The Avengers all come together here with Brian Tyler tying it all together with his signature sound. You might say, “Wha?” “Huh?” But you can just stop that now and do some trusting. It’s quite a ride…with a final track that you are NOT expecting…but will probably love.

Good for Brian Tyler!

And here’s another Iron Man 3 TV Spot. Yeah, because we’ll forget we saw The Avengers. Also the first clip from the movie:

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, let me say Happy Birthday to Christopher Walken, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, RDJ, Hugo Weaving, Akira Toriyama~

  1. If I was Guillermo del Toro, I’d be geeking out about an Alex Ross comic book cover of one of my works too!
