Ram-Leela Trailer with English and French Subtitles

I’m not gonna lie. I wanna watch the sh!t out of this movie. Like… I wanna bask myself in the beauty of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s world on the big screen. It’s something I hope to see during the credits of DDLJ, that they’ll announce they’re bringing Ram-Leela to my country [1]. xD

Ram-Leela is supposed to be a re-telling of Romeo & Juliet in Bhansali’s world — I don’t think that worked as well in Saawariya, which was a retelling of Dostoevsky’s White Nights, but maybe they’ve managed to strike a nice balance with this one. Apparently, the release of the film has been having troubles because some people — in Hinduism — see the title (and its alternative Ramlila) as a reference to Lord Ram, and find the content of the film questionable because it’s got nothing to do with Lord Ram.

With a legal back and forth, just a few days ahead of its November 15th release, a court has restrained the production from using its official title [1][2], at least within India, where it is now known as Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela [1]. I have no idea whether the film plans to open on this date in selected cities in the US or the UK. What I do know is that Ram-Leela is opening in France on December 4th.

Here’s the trailer with French subtitles:

If I get to watch this on the big screen, I’ll have to owe Deepika Padukone big time. She’s practically the main reason why the film would be brought down here.
