The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Dark Phoenix doesn’t look so hot~

TUESDAY

Richard Armitage will be Wolverine! … in Marvel’s first ever scripted podcast. Here’s the synopsis and promo art of the ten-episode event titled Wolverine: The Long Night:

The story begins with two agents, Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall, who arrive in the fictional town of Burns, Alaska, to investigate a series of murders. The duo team up with deputy Bobby Reid to investigate their main suspect, Logan, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Screenrant had a couple of short interviews with two Star Wars: The Last Jedi actors who play non-force-sensitive characters from both sides of the conflict. First, Oscar Isaac, who said Poe Dameron “finds himself in a situation that’s very frustrating”:

He wants to help but doesn’t know how he’s going to do it and on top of that he gets a new boss played by the wonderful, exquisite, Laura Dern…and so there’s a lot of friction there because there are things that he wants to do. The way he wants to attack. The way he wants to resist is not the way that seems to be the wisest way to resist, or at least not from Admiral Holdo’s point of view…And so, that’s his basic conflict there. How can you put those two ideas together to fight but also to survive?

Then, there’s, Domhnall Gleeson, who said General Hux ain’t too keen on Kylo Ren… or The Force.

They’ve always seemed to be adversarial, you know? I think Hux wants to be at the top and he wants to get the crown from Snoke and he knows that Kylo Ren’s probably in a better position to get that. So I think this fear and hatred, I think he’s a bit freaked out by all the magic stuff

WEDNESDAY

EW released a couple of pictures from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald, one with Newt in the creepiest sewer tunnel system, and another of a behind-the-scenes shot of Eddie Redmayne chatting to Jude Law ih their respective casual muggle-looking duds.

Well damn, Kevin Feige said Chris Evans made them wait for his final decision to become Captain America. I mean, I get it, dude wasn’t sure if he was ready for the job… but he still make Marvel wait a weekend. Also, he’s quite happy people liked the solo films, since they were already filming Avengers before either Thor or Captain America were released.

What if people hated Thor? What if people thought Loki was ridiculous? What if people didn’t buy this super soldier frozen in ice? We were in the first quarter of production on a giant movie at that time, and we weren’t going to stop. It was sort of all in at that point.

That’s nice and all that, but Wonder Woman was the most tweeted-about movie of 2017! The others in the Top Ten are: La La LandDunkirkSpider-Man: HomecomingJustice LeagueItBeauty and the BeastThor: RagnarokBlack Panther and Fifty Shades Darker.

I knew somebody had to voice the titular character in the live-action Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu. But I didn’t expect it to be Ryan Reynolds! And the role is supportedly motion capture. LOL. So the plot is that Pikachu will help a boy find his missing father. Universal is handling distribution outside of Japan; Toho, in Japan. Yeah, whatever, I can only think of this:

Netflix announced the release date of Black Mirror season 4: December 29! Yay, pre-new year binge-watching!
