Awkwafina featuring Margaret Cho – Green Tea (NSFW)
May was Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the US, and to celebrate the last day of it Asian-American rapper, comedian and personality Awkwafina (born Nora Lum) has released her single, Green Tea, a rap anthem for Asian women, featuring Margaret Cho.
In it she references and flips all stereotypes from the concubine image, the bashful bride, being bad drivers, Long Duk Dong et more. You can check out the lyrics on Genius.
The video, which was directed by Tony K Films, features both women rapping, while Cho takes a dig at all stereotypes featuring as an e-cig-smoking hanbok-wearing madame, a sexualized music video dancer, and a Japanese evil spirit girl haunting every frame.
