Who Needs “Friends”?

Well, that was some fun speculation. And while Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox admitted to being open-minded about a Friends reunion, David Schwimmer prefers not revisiting the show.

But as the slogan for the Season 2 poster for Episodes says:

“Who needs friends?”

Showtime sure does have bragging rights with Matt LeBlanc’s award recognition, eh? He never won a big award for playing Joey Tribbiani, one of the dumbest (albeit entertaining) characters in the history of television, on Friends or Joey — by the way, the poster is also a reference to the Joey promotional poster — until he played as himself and managed to win at the Golden Globes in a weak category for television shows: the Comedy Lead Actors. And Matt managed to win the award before the likes of Larry David and Louis C.K. (who I hope wins at the 2012 Emmy Awards instead of Jim Parsons) did for playing as themselves.

Should a Friends reunion happen?

If it ever happens, where should it take place? And how would it be done?

Episodes premieres its second season on BBC 2 today. Showtime will premiere the show on July 1 along with the eighth season of Weeds.

My suggestion for NBC as the “network” was officially destroyed with the third episode. Oh well, should have seen it coming considering who owns Showtime and something that was said during the Season 2 premiere.

    But speculating is fun. :)
