John Woo’s The Crossing 2 Trailer with English Subtitles

I think it was a really REALLY bad idea to split John Woo’s passion project into two out of nowhere because they didn’t want a long movie (and he didn’t want to cut it down), and the first movie just serves as a build-up to The Crossing II, making the first part feel incomplete, making you unfulfilled.

Budgeted at $40M USD, The Crossing (太平轮) focuses on the story of the sinking of the Taiping steamer in 1949, and will focus on the stories of three couples aboard fleeing China for Taiwan during the revolution. The screenplay was written by Hui-Ling Wang (Eat Drink Man WomanCrouching Tiger, Hidden DragonLust, Caution) and will be presented as a two-part film starring Zhang Ziyi, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Song Hye-kyo, Huang Xiaoming, Masami Nagasawa, Bowie Lam, Tong Dawei.

Over the years, with both films released as a pack- it’ll be good.

The Crossing II opened in China back in July, Taiwan in August, and will finally head to Hong Kong by October 22nd.
