Porretas featuring Celtas Cortos – Jodid* Futuro

Spanish rock band, Porretas, releases their single for Jodido Futuro (F*cked Up Future) taken from their 20th studio album, 20 y Serenos, released in May last year.

The style of the song is a mix of rock influenced by pop punk with heavy Celtic elements thanks to the collaboration with Spanish rock band, Celtas Cortos. Jodido Futuro talks from the new generation’s point of view, about their experience having to over-study for nothing. In part of the song, they begin singing, “From all the people we are, there’s half too many. I’ve been at it for four years, always lagging behind — I live off my parents, and my children will take care of me.

The song mildly reminds us of Argentinean band Los Auténticos Decadentes’ hit, La Guitarra (The Guitar) [MV], which is an interesting contrast having the “main character” singing about “not wanting to study or work because he wants to play the guitar all day.
