Mood Indigo – Trailer

The first trailer for Michel Gondry’s highly anticipated l’Ecume des Jours, whose English title is Mood Indigo, has arrived!

Based on Boris Vian’s French novel of the same name, the film stars Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris as Colin and Chloe, two people who meet, fall in love, and get married. It is on their honeymoon that Chloe develops an illness and their relationship begins to change.

After making quite a change from his usual style with The Green Hornet, it looks like Gondry is heading back to the world he’s most comfortable in, which makes it one to keep an eye out for.

If the trailer shows us anything, it’s that Michel Gondry and Boris Vian are a match made in French Surrealist heaven.

Mood Indigo opens on April 24th in France and Belgium.

  1. I love Michel Gondry and this trailer is definitely Gondry. You don’t even need to put his name in the trailer. Yet, the one thing that ruined the trailer for me is that fucking Lumineers song. I can’t stand that fucking song. I hate folk-pop. It’s insufferable.

@Steven Flores, I feel exactly the same but I’m willing to ignore it only because I can tell it’s just meant for ~wide teen appeal~ and all that. Considering they used a Duke Ellington song for the English title, I think they’re sticking with a full jazz soundtrack for the movie – or at least I really hope they do because that’s what Vian’s novel is all about.
