Hemingway & Gellhorn Trailer

HBO and its pretty high quality TV movies — even the most mundane of them looks pretty good (if you think there’s any mundane HBO content, that is). Directed by Philip Kaufman, Hemingway & Gellhorn will tell the story of journalist Martha Gellhorn (Nicole Kidman) and her husband Ernest Hemingway (Clive Owen) during the late 30s.

For those who are familiar with Hemingway, Gellhorn is the only woman who divorced him, and was inspiration for — probably — your favorite of his works: For Whom the Bell Tolls. Then again, this movie looks like it’s from the perspective of Gellhorn… so there’s that.

I was a little miffed with how Nicole Kidman looked at the beginning, but as the trailer kept on going, it just seemed I got more and more into it until I realized I couldn’t take my eyes off of it. I can’t wait for this.

The cast is rounded out with Robert Duvall, Rodrigo Santoro, Parker Posey, Tony Shalhoub, Joan Chen and apparently Lars Ulrich — yes, from Metallica — is in it, too.

Hemingway & Gellhorn will air on May 28 on HBO.

Note: Joan Chen will apparently be playing Madame Chiang — as in, wife of Chiang Kai-shek, and one of the famous Soong Sisters. A little part of me wished that Vivian Wu could play her again, even though I also love Joan Chen. xD
