Ang Lee’s Life of Pi Trailer

The first look at Ang Lee’s vision of Yann Martel’s adventure novel Life of Pi, originally published in 2001, follows the main character Pi, who in adult (Irrfan Khan) form reminisces about his childhood (Ayush Tandon) and his exploration of spirituality when he later (Suraj Sharma) survives 227 days after a shipwreck, stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger.

The cast is rounded out by Gérard Depardieu as the Frenchman, Tobey Maguire as Yann Martel, Tabu as Pi’s mother, and Adil Hussain as his father.

Ang Lee’s Life of Pi will be released in 3D — at another shot at the technology after Martin Scorsese’s 2011 Hugo — on November 21st in the United States and dates expansion worldwide through December and January.
