The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Nice and Accurate Prophecies!

TUESDAY

Here’s the trailer of Injustice 2, the sequel to the popular 2013 fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, which saw the heroes and villains of DC Comics clashing in brutal brawls. I never played, but oh boy I did read the comicbooks, and the story trailer for Injustice 2 is just right up my alley! FYI, the story follows an alternate reality in which the Joker tricked Superman into murdering pregnant Lois Lane and destroying Metropolis; Superman goes mad and, after graphically murdering Joker, subjects the world to his will. Batman ain’t having none of that and teams up with some superheroes from this universe and beyond in order to put a stop to Superman’s reign. In the trailer, Brainiac narrates/evaluates several DC Comics characters, from popular Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, and game newcomers like Supergirl, Robin (Damien Wayne), and some villains as well.

The CW’s DC Comics superhero series return and here are their midseason premiere trailers! Yep, here we have Supergirl, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow.

You know Legion? That new FX’s X-Men TV series? Well, according to producer Lauren Shuler Donner, it ain’t part of the X-Men cinematic universe, in order to be given free rein to put his own stamp on the series about the David Haller (a.k.a. Legion), the son of Professor X. So yeah, if Xavier is ever mentioned, it won’t be neither Patrick Stewart not James McAvoy~

The cinematic universe will not worry about Legion. They will not worry about these TV worlds as all. They will just continue in the way that they have been continuing, and there is some great stuff that we are developing. I can just say it’s going to be new and different, and yet Legion and our other show, we’re not going to get in each other’s way.

EW’s The Defenders special also gave us a nice interview with Finn Jones (Iron Fist), where he talked about his character, his former gig at Game of Thrones, and his relationship with Mike Colter (Luke Cage) since both characters are BFF in the comics~

I love Mike, he’s so sweet. We’re working together really well, which is f—ing cool. So far all of our stuff has been like, “Whoa!” … It’s a really big thing among the fan base, and that aspect is coming through really well. The great thing about the comic books is they’re fantastic but they’re — and I don’t want to say two-dimensional — they’re comic books, and what we’re doing is we’re making more fleshed-out characters who have real problems with the world. There’s more to Danny and Luke’s characters and what they can bring to each other than the comic books ever came upon.

2020 Tokyo Olympics’ merchandising has more anime than I thought it will have! No videogames characters like Mario or Pikachu tho, and isn’t that peculiar? So yep, we have Sailor Moon, Astro Boy, Dragon Ball’s Son Goku, One Piece’s Luffy, Naruto, Crayon Shin-chan, some magical girls from Pretty Cure, and Yo-Kai Watch’s Jibanyan.

WEDNESDAY

Yep, that “Untitled Animated Spider-Man Project” Sony was making will totally be about Miles Morales! The film is due to open December 21, 2018. Miles Morales took on the mantle of Spider-Man after Peter Parker died back in 2011 in Marvel’s Ultimate storyline. Now that the Secret Wars arc condensed Marvel’s titles, Morales protects New York City while Peter Parker (very much alive) protects the world. Of course we have seen Miles animated before on the Disney XD series Ultimate Spider-Man and as a playable character in numerous video games.

And the newest show to get a revival is Will & Grace! Yep, NBC gave it a 10-episode order! Guess reunited the cast to encourage people to vote went over quite well!
