Sia – Elastic Heart

Back in 2013, Sia recorded Elastic Heart for the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire — also available on her sixth studio album 1000 Forms of Fear — and a video along with it. [1] Just recently, Sia has released a music video for the song, starring Shia LaBeouf and Maddie Ziegler, the latter has previously appeared in the music video for Sia’s Chandelier [MV].

The video — co-directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, with choreography by Ryan Heffington — takes place in a cage, with the pair duking it out through modern dance moves. The two alternately exhibit aggressive and tender behavior toward one another, with only one of them ultimately escapeing from the cage.

Although the song’s lyrics deal with Sia’s relationship with her father, [2] the video has become controversial pretty quick, in particular with the pedophilia accusations, to which Sia has apologized for on Twitter and clarified the roles of LaBeouf and Ziegler in her music video. [3, 4, 5, 6]
