The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Long live the Leo meme

TUESDAY

Legends of The Hidden Temple and Hey Arnold! are returning to Nicklodeon as TV Movies! The two-part TV movie for Hey Arnold! was expected, since we were promised said movie for ages, but the live action TV movie for Legends of the Hidden Temple? Nobody expected that, I think. I mean, they would make Legends of The Hidden Temple with either precocious kids who think they are archaeologists inside an actual hidden temple, or a “realistic” game show where kids are transported to a hidden temple game world or something. They should just bring the show back tho! Except more extreme! Even if the original one seemed to traumatize the poor kids who where in it. Talking about traumatized kids, that could be a movie too, according to Funny or Die:

Surprising nobody, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s ticket are selling quite well. According to MovieTickets.com, Batman v. Superman ticket sales on their website reached 59% of all tickets sold in their first 24 hours. Avengers: Age of Ultron sold 21% of its tickets within their first 24 and Jurassic World peaked at 51%. It’s obviously not enough to break the Star Wars: The Force Awakens record, which peaked at 75% in its first 24 hours.

Welp, it seems that I will have to bring extra Kleenex to Captain America: Civil War, since according to a source who saw its latest screening, the last act of the film is brutal, both physically and emotionally. Also, Spider-Man and Black Panther are awesome.

One person told me that the last act plays out as an emotional horror movie because the film gives both Tony and Steve solid reasoning, and because it truly makes you feel the depths of this schism.

The season 2 finale of Agent Carter was this week, and while the future of the TV show is uncertain, Hayley Atwell sure knows whats he would love for Peggy Carter in hypothetical future seasons.

Because we know that [Peggy Carter] lives a long life—from The Winter Soldier we know she dies probably in her nineties—you have the civil rights movement, you have the 1960s, the Cold War, you have all these incredible things that will happen socially and culturally in America and in Europe, that she will definitely have been involved with.

This wasn’t a regular Tuesday, it was Super Tuesday, which is a Tuesday when the greatest number of U.S. states hold primary elections and caucuses. And so Marvel wants you to “Vote Loki”, releasing two covers for the new series that will start in June. But will Marvel fans vote for Loki? According to a Twitter poll, yep!

It’s official: Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey will star, as hero and villain respectively, in the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark TowerStephen King himself announced it on Facebook!

Talking about authors confirming things on Social Media, J.K. Rowling said that Fantastic Beasts will be a trilogy on Twitter, confirming a long held rumor. I mean, Warner Bros. chief Ken Tsujihara confirmed it will be so months ago, but then there were contradictions. Seems things got resolved tho!

WEDNESDAY

Apparently Warner Bros. is already planning a Suicide Squad sequel for 2017! Once more with director David Ayer and star Will Smith on board! Guess this mean Deadshot does survive the movie.

Baymax, and the other kids for Big Hero 6 too I guess, is getting his own TV show! It will will premiere on Disney XD in 2017!

The series picks up immediately following the events in the film. Hiro is the newest prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, and he faces daunting academic challenges …. not to mention the social trials of being the little man on campus. Off campus, the stakes are raised for Big Hero 6 as they must protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains.

Here’s the first trailer for David Tennant and Catherine Tate’s return to Doctor Who, where we can listen a bit of all three of the upcoming adventures: “Time Reaver”, “Technophobia” and “Death and the Queen”.
