The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: #HarryPotter20

THURSDAY

First, great news from Netflix! Sense8 is returning for 2 hour finale! Yes! Sure, it won’t be a new season, show is still canceled. BUT! Now we won’t be left on a cliffhanger! We are getting a decent send-off! YES! Creator Lana Wachwoski wrote a lovely letter that was shared on the Sense8 social media accounts with this words:

Death doesn’t let you say goodbye. 2 hour finale episode in the works. Tell your cluster.

As for the meh news from Netflix, here’s the trailer for their Death Note movie. I’m still not sure about making Light the loser type. Light was like this honor student that nobody would suspect. This dude is like the first kind of dude someone would suspect is a mass murderer in an USA school. But I don’t blame Nat Wolff for that… yet. On the other hand, I don’t mind Lakeith Stanfield as L. Dude has done a decent job in everything I’ve seen him in. Also, Willem Dafoe is perfect casting for Ryuk… And that’s the end of nice things I have to say. Here’s the description:

Intoxicated by the power of a supernatural notebook, a young man begins killing those he deems unworthy of life. Based on the famous Japanese manga. Death Note streams on Netflix August 25.

Talking about not having many nice things to say, here’s the trailer for Marvel’s Inhumans. I still can’t deal with Medusa’s wig. I guess if she had something to do in the trailer, I might be able to ignore it. But she doesn’t, so I can’t. Also, there’s Maximus doing all the exposition, Black Bolt looking generic and a non-entity, and the Inhuman citizens looks very boring (they even dress in gray, the poor bastards). Lockjaw looks fun and cute tho, even if his CGI ain’t that great.

OK, let’s continue. Oh hey, there’s a live-action Jetsons TV series in development! Robert Zemeckis is also attached to executive produce the series. It’s expected to be a multi-cam sitcom and will take place 100 years in the future. But wait, there’s more! A major motion picture is also in development. Sausage Party director Conrad Vernon was brought to develop the project with an eye to direct.

And now for something amazing, here’s the trailer for Rick and Morty season 3! Yes, it is damn weird, but also very amazing, right?! There’s Mad Max: Fury Road and Pickle Morty! The new episodes begin July 30 on AdultSwim.

FRIDAY

Yep. It finally happened. Wonder Woman has officially become the highest grossing DCEU film in USA with $330.533 million. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice got $330.366 million, Suicide Squad got $325.100 million, and Man of Steel got $291.045 million. Congrats to Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot!

And that’s it for the week. Before I go, I want to wish Happy Birthday to Mindy Kaling, Nick Offerman, Tobey Maguire, J.J. Abrams, Mel Brooks and Vincent D’Onofrio.
