Simon Kinberg talked again about X-Men movies in a podcast with Empire Magazine, and while some of the stuff he said we already knew from other interviews, we learnt new things like when will Charles lose his hair (they have talked about it but don’t know yet) and what was JFK’s mutant power (Kinberg chose telepathy, and other chose unspecified pervy powers… maybe like Gambit’s charm~). He also ships Magneto/Professor X… kinda:
If First Class was Eric’s story and Days Of Future Past is Charles’s story, then Apocalypse will be both of their stories. The first movie was about Eric becoming empowered. That’s the origin story of a man’s power. Days Of Future Past is about a guy who is a mess, masterminding the end of this massive movie. So they are both at their peak powers at the start of Apocalypse, so Apocalypse for me is culmination of that three-act love story.
Bryan Fuller talks some more about Hannibal, specially about that series finale, which could have totally been the finale of the series if NBC haven’t had renewed it for a third season.
There’s something so poetic about it, because you leave the audience with the power of interpretation. At the moment we left all of these characters, they were still alive. So, you can live in that moment and choose your own story as it were, but the follow-through and satisfaction for me would be seeing Hannibal Lecter walk out cleansed, baptized, and rebirthed, in the way that he did. I would have held my head high, as far as ending the [series] on such a bold note.
So, Roland Emmerich will direct the first new Stargate movie. Yes, first. It’s gonna be a trilogy. Because everything old is new and must come in trilogies! Welp, I will probably give it a try. Like I said before, Emmerich’s sci-fi movies may be dumb, but they are usually entertaining.
FRIDAY
Aw, man. Marvel keeps giving me bad news! Now they won’t make a One-Shot short film for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier Blu-Ray/DVD! Makes me sad because considering all the others, this One-Shot would have been about Thor: The Dark World. Damn! Guess they have to keep their guns pointed at making Ant-Man happen no mater what! Anyway, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be available on Digital 3D, Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on August 19 and on Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand on September 9. Why do they keep giving two different release dates for “home videos”? Oh well. Also, we have the cover art that are not very inspired, except they decided to photoshop a new expression on Chris Evans’ face.
Oh well, on better news, we will get Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1 on DVD and Blu Ray on September 9th. We will get the usual behind-the-scenes, VFX breakdown, deleted scenes, commentary and, of course, gag reel! There were also a couple of interview with Lee Pace about his new AMC drama Halt and Catch Fire… but I only cared that he talked about how crazy his character Ronan The Accuser is in Guardians of the Galaxy! And he really wants to see Groot and Rocket on the big screen, ’cause they were asshole who were never there. LOL. Dude also won’t say “no” if Bryan Fuller wants him in Hannibal for old time sakes (and because Lee Pace is good of course)~
I love that show. What an incredibly eclectic series of shows Bryan Fuller has made. What he’s doing is so cool with my beloved Caroline Dhavernas, my little sister [on Wonderfalls]. So I would love to play someone twisted and dark on Hannibal.
So who is voicing Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avenger Sequels? Josh Brolin! That’s who! Or so “the sources” say. Nothing official yet! Eh, is it mean of me to say he already kinda looks like Thanos anyway?
