The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Shall we begin?

THURSDAY

Star Trek Into Darkness teaser trailer is here! And of course Benedict Cumberbatch is narrating. All over the internet, everyone is analyzing every single image and asking questions. We got lots of HD screencaps too!

Cute alert: The Hobbit: An Unexpected stars with their LEGO minifigs! Also a 13-minute special and an exclusive video for Air New Zealand. And an image of Legolas and Bard, that is the first official still from The Hobbit: There and Back Again.

Rodrigo Santoro talks about being Xerxes again in 300: Rise of an Empire:

I had to shave, I had to work out again, I had to go back to Xerxes. It’s the same character. There’s little new things–a little before, a little after–but most of the movie, it’s during– kind of the same time where the first movie takes place. There’s a lot going on. It’s hard, the green screen, it’s a different way of working. It’s really challenging to work that way and the character wears a lot and Xerxes is a giant.

Ok, so Ian Mckellen doesn’t have anything signed for X-Men: Days of Future Past either. What matters is that he is already interested~

I have to say I haven’t signed a contract, nor have I read a script. But when Bryan Singer calls, on the whole, I follow.

Teaser of the Thor: The Dark World special poster for cast and crew. Looks good, but also reminds me of Tron‘s.

We also got some details of footage shown at a convention in Italy. This footage needs to leak. Also, dammit, just gimme some Loki pics please!

FRIDAY

Entertainment Weekly gives us the first image of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It’s Bilbo in Smaug’s Scrooge McDuck kinda gold pile. We also got a new clip where The White Council talks about Smaug. And a whole lot of interviews of The Hobbit Week at Colbert Report. They are Made of Awesome!

Yeah, I am not a fan of the artwork in Young Avengers, but it has Kieron Gillen and Kid Loki… sorta. Count me in!

Some images of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods, including actions figures and a scan where you can see the villains. Right in the childhood!

Here’s another case of “why the heck are they making this into a musical?”. This time is Pan’s Laberynth! So, who would they get to act the part of the creatures that will do as good a job as Doug Jones?

And the award for most innovative movie going experience of the year goes to a Life of Pi premiere in Paris! Pretty, but kinda uncomfortable.

And that’s it for the week. Before I go let me announce The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl has a Facebook page! Weeee! Also, here’s a list on why the X-Men cinematic continuity is all kinds of fucked up. And a fanmade Dragon Ball Z live action trailer that, even with some acting problems and limited budget, is way better than the American live action movie~

Why is EVERYONE trying to ruin everything that I find beautiful in the world?!?!?! A musical of Pan’s Labyrinth , though? REALLY?!?! But… WAAAAAAAEEEEE!

    God… I just… I can’t… HaHa.

@Camiele, because we must MILK anything that was remotely successful – no matter how many times, you must MILK it. The only one that’s getting away with it is going to be Gone With The Wind coz no one is going to think of it being remade as a 4hrs movie, and if it’s not a faithful re-adaptation, everyone’s going to piss at the news ;P

      • Camiele says:

@amy, *siiiiigh* You’re right, of course. And more than angry, it makes me sad that there’s nothing sacred anymore. No matter how beautiful something was to begin with, somebody somewhere tries to make it something completely disgusting just to wring a few extra bucks out of it. Damn!

  2. “Like the sea.”
    “Right in the childhood.”
    great phrases.
