The Fangirly Diary of a Geek Girl: Morpheus Reloaded

Greetings, fellow fangirls and fanboys! This week another franchise will be revived! But not rebooted nor remade tho! DC rewrites and reschedules! And hey Sony’s Spider-Man franchise reappears with something different! Yes, that’s a lot of “r” verbs! Here’s how the week started:

SATURDAY

“Life After Happily Ever After” is the new song from Tangled: The Series… and it’s adorable! Oh hey, Clancy Brown is voicing the King!

SUNDAY

Welp, Ed Sheeran will guest star in Game of Thrones season 7! Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss announced at the South by Southwest Film Festival.

One thing that really sucks about Iron Fist? Shou-Lao will not appear on screen. Shou-Lao, the dragon Danny Rand had to defeat in order to get the power of the Iron Fist… yep, he’s kind important to the hero’s backstory. No budget for a dragon, I guess. They don’t have Game of Thrones‘ cash to burn!

Habemus footage to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations… that Naruto sequel about the next generation of Konoha ninja, including the titular character, Naruto’s son. It premiers on April 5.

MONDAY

Seems that Warner Bros is eyeing Matthew Vaughn to direct Man of Steel 2. Well, dude directed Kick-Ass and Kingsman: The Secret Service, and I liked both movies, so I expect he could bring something interesting to the franchise. Like fun violence!

Here’s the new trailer of Doctor Who series 10. We have once again The Doctor (Peter Capaldi), new companion Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas). Besides that Missy, Cybermen, a Dalek… and a robot that speaks emoji. Doctor Who series 10 premieres on April 15!

Also, Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events got renewed for season 2! The announcement was posted as a grumpy-pithy letter from Mr. Lemony Snicket himself on twitter~

After 25 years (ugh I feel old) the MTV Movie Awards ain’t doing that great, and so in order to try and be cool with the kids again they are now including TV series and returning to live format. So yep, we are getting the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday, May 7th at 8PM.
