Jonsi & John Powell – Where No One Goes (Lyric Video)

I’ll tell you this right now: How To Train Your Dragon 2 is my second favorite film of the year, despite only seeing 15 films from this year. Visually and story-wise, it’s far superior than the first film and it should be a virtual lock for Best Animated Film at the Academy Awards next year. Another category in which HTTYD2 could (and should) get a nomination should be the Best Original Song category via Jónsi’s and John Powell’s Where No One Goes.

The lyrics are HTTYD-themed and the video also shows a few scenes from the film — none of them are spoilerish thanks to the trailers shown before the film’s premiere, but if you go blind into the second film, the opening sequence becomes a lot more enjoyable when it comes to Hiccup and Toothless. What makes the song truly remarkable is how it ties with the film and it provides a very strong desire of wanting to fly and the sensation of freedom that comes along with flying… or riding a dragon, in Hiccup’s case.

Anyways, this isn’t the first time that Jónsi has been involved with the franchise, as he performed Stick and Stones [MV] for the first How To Train Your Dragon film.
