The last 13 episodes of Korean drama Gloria focus all their forces in taking older half-brother Ji Suk down. As a new alliance from a forgotten relative is formed, she will do anything in her power to hunt the fox down.
From this point on, Gloria turns from self-aware soap opera into a melodrama, as the relationships between Jin Jin, Kang Suk, Yoon Seo and Dong Ah get more problematic with the cliché evil bad guy Ji Suk.
In the next 12 episodes of Gloria, the story starts to grow into the crescendo of drama that is essential in all telenovelas! Gloria is slow without being boring, and lacks a lot of the “cheese,” which makes this feel mature.
Gloria’s first 12 episodes (of a lasting 50) are a light drama story with comedic moments and a bit of music. It tells the story of four characters — Na Jin Jin, Dong Ah, Kang Suk, and Yoon Seo — and how their lives change when they meet.
Season 2 does some of the things that made Glee worth the watch in the past season, but they did some bad things as well.
We love musicals, we love over-the-top humor, and we love sappy moments, so we love Glee. We have described the show as the love-child result of a wild night between the cult loser show Freaks & Geeks, The WB’s canceled-too-soon Popular, and High School Musical on LSD. Who’s the father? We don’t know.
