Up, Guards and at ‘Em!, the third album by Leeds-based The Pigeon Detectives, is a fairly underwhelming record with no memorable moments to make it worthwhile. With strong competition in the post punk revival/guitar rock scene, The Pigeon Detectives need to step up their game if they want to stay relevant.

When 20-year-old Baby Doll loses her mother she knows instantly that she has to protect herself and her little sister from their stepfather. But things don’t go as planned: Baby Doll’s sister is dead, she has a gun in her hand and her stepfather winds up committing her to a mental institution.

Gloria – Ep26-Ep37

From this point on, Gloria turns from self-aware soap opera into a melodrama, as the relationships between Jin Jin, Kang Suk, Yoon Seo and Dong Ah get more problematic with the cliché evil bad guy Ji Suk.

Britney Spears – Femme Fatale

Femme Fatale marks Britney Spears’ seventh album in her discography since she exploded into pop idol-hood in the late 90s with that sexy school-girl outfit video of Baby One More Time. In here, she reunites with music confidante Max Martin — who was behind Baby One More Time as well as Circus.

Verbal – Visionair

Considering I jumped around on this album like a kid on a trampoline, it’s easy for me to say that I’m highly disappointed in Verbal’s first solo album.

Where Geun-Suk Jang plays your typical 19-year-old delinquent playboy that one day, while grocery shopping, suddenly has a baby in his cart. The note says that the baby is his and suddenly his playboy days are over.
