Captain Marvel is not a great movie, but it does what it sets up to do. It has low stakes and lots of fun, just like Ant-Man and The Wasp. And just like that movie, it serves as a breath of air between the rollercoasters of emotions we will feel when Avengers: Endgame comes.
This year I bested myself. From the 384 movies that I saw, I’ll make my customary list of favorite films discoveries from year 2014 downward.
This week we all saw how Captain Marvel was going to look and everyone wasn’t feeling it~ Also, the arguably most important award nominations, and lots of lots of Black Panther stuff now that the premiere date is around the corner.
This week EW regaled us a lot of articles and pictures on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, also concept arts from Thor: Ragnarok and Justice League. Also, Anastasia turns 20 and the composers had one more surprise for us!
This past week we had even more geeky TV adaptations, more promos for TV shows and movies, the first news from New York Comic Con (NYCC for friends!)… and Marvel celebrates 31 days of “HelaWeen”!
This week one iconic character is returning to the Jurassic Park/World franchose! Also, a couple of directors are getting franchise jobs, updates on premiere dates, and Guardians of the Galaxy is out in some parts of the world and thus we have the last batch of related news!
While Kong: Skull Island is a movie with obvious flaws, it delivers what it set up to do, that is giving us an entertaining action/adventure film that introduces new mythology to the franchise.
Once again, YAM Magazine has voted on the upcoming world premiere releases we most want to watch this year.
Besides the regular news, this week the first reports of New York Comic Con started pouring in! And also the first trailer of an awaited new adaptation, courtesy of Netflix!
