For the first time I hear The GazettE using electro beats in their songs.  Vortex seems like just the type of song for this. GazettE’s typical tempo switch-a-roo, aided by the guitars and electronic elements, does make you feel like you’re in a vortex. They start out with such dark, mysterious riffs then suddenly explode into a high energy chorus of jpop proportions. It’s a welcome addition to Vortex, but I hope it doesn’t turn into a habit.

The next two songs are a striking contrast from the first. It’s all powerful beats and mellow vocals. Uncertain Sense sounds hopeful but at the same time lost and scared. Certainly fits it’s title. It’s a very calming song. The only down side is the English lyrics. Now, Ruki is one of my favorite vocalists in Visual Kei, but when he busts out his sloppy English… Cringe worthy. Love, if we can’t understand you then the lyrical impact is lost.

Break Me is my favorite song in this single. It’s a bit different from the usual GazettE style. Break Me sounds seductive. With a heavy bass and raspy vocals, you can’t say no to GazettE. Also a big nod of approval to the solos in this song. The guys need to make more sexy music like this. It fits their senior Visual Kei rock star image.
