More then often we at YAM don’t review single EPs, which is, when I think about it, a little dumb seeing as single EPs are the easiest things in the world to review — they are more then often not longer then three songs long. But I guess that more then often you find yourself with too little material to get a good feel about a band, so I guess I just answered my own question. So why am I making an exception with Combo De La Musica? Well, I think my bias over this Swedish soul/funk band has been very much proven in this site. I will rave about Combo De La Musica high and low until, well until the end of times I guess.
What is so amazing about Combo De La Musica? Pretty much everything: their sound, their lyrics, the energy they give on stage, the way they make you want to dance and Kristin Amaparo’s voice. Combo De La Musica is everything that is amazing about music, everything that inspires joy in music.
Truth is, I am overly biased to give an objective review about this EP so I won’t. This EP is great, all the songs are great and I wish this was a full-length album. Combo De La Musica have proven their dues time and time again on stage and I’m over my heels in love with them. Many say that love makes you blinded, if that is the case then so be it. As long as I can hear Combo’s music then I will deliriously happy.
