Zhang Yimou’s The Great Wall Trailer

Let’s be honest, how many of you mofos would be posting this trailer if Matt Damon wasn’t in it. For some a Zhang Yimou film is enough, for the rest of the lot, they need a familiar face. The first trailer (American or International version, I suppose) for The Great Wall (长城) comes just in time for the release of Damon’s latest Jason Bourne [Trailer] outing. Coincidence?

The one-minute and some clip (that feels more like a teaser) uses Damon’s face at maximum, alongside that dude from Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal. Short blurbs of Andy Lau, actor Zhang Hanyu, and actress Jing Tian. Though IMDb lists this as a mystery thriller, I’m tagging this as a sci-fi action fantasy for obvious reasons.

Eddie Peng, Lu Han and Willem Dafoe also star in the movie.

The Great Wall is the first blockbuster US-China co-production, and it’s expected to hit theaters in China sometime in December this year, while the American release is set for February 17th, 2017. I’m hoping for an early release ahead of the US.
