Here’s the trailer for Luc Besson’s The Lady, starring Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis.

The Lady is an epic love story about how an extraordinary couple — Aung San Suu Kyi (Michelle Yeoh) and her husband, Michael Aris (David Thewlis) — and family sacrifice their happiness for a higher cause.

Despite being separated by a dangerously hostile regime, their love endures until the very end. A story of devotion and human understanding set against a background of political turmoil which has continued until very recently. The Lady is also the story of the peaceful quest of the woman who is at the core of Myanmar’s democracy movement.

The Lady debuted at the 2011 Toronto Intenational Film Festival and was first released in France on November 30, 2011. A premiere date for USA is set for February 17, 2012.
