The Bourne Legacy Trailer 2

Here’s the second trailer for The Bourne Legacy, starring Jeremy Renner as the main protagonist, Aaron Cross.

Cross is a genetically modified agent and a product of the CIA’s Operation Outcome, the successor to Operation Treadstone. It’s described in the trailer as “Treadstone, without the inconsistency.”

“There was never just one… Jason Bourne was just the tip of the iceberg.”

Faced with the public chaos that the program has caused, the CIA has decided to shut down Operation Treadstone and kill all the agents it produced, as well as others that were involved. Enter Agent Byer (Edward Norton), the CIA operative whose task is to take down Cross.

The cast is rounded out with Rachel Weisz, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Donna Murphy, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach, David Strathairn, Corey Stoll, and Oscar Isaac. Also, despite Matt Damon not being part of the film, the trailer shows that Jason Bourne will still be a part of the film, as his actions are a main instigator of the events on The Bourne Legacy.

The Bourne Legacy is set to hit theaters August 3, 2012.
