Shame Trailer

Our very own Julyssa will be watching Shame this week as part of this year’s Stockholm Film Festival.

The film, directed by Steve McQueen (Hunger), tells the story of a 30-something-year-old man named Brandon (Michael Fassbender, Best Actor at this year’s Venice Film Festival), just a regular man who seems unable to manage his sex life. When his little sister Sissy (Carey Mulligan) crashes at his place indefinitely, his life spirals out of control.

Shame was also named Best Film at this year’s Venice Film Festival.

The film is set to open in a limited release in the United States on December 2nd, with an unlikely wide release due to its NC-17 rating. However, Shame is set to expand through Europe during January and February, with Sweden getting it by January 6th. The UK does get the worst releases of even their own productions, getting it by January 13th.

The film will premiere at the Stockholm Film Festival on November 15th.
