Parched Indian Trailer

Director Leena Yadav’s latest film, Parched, has been doing the festival rounds since its premiere at last year’s Toronto Film Festival. It apparently opened in Mexico (as Corazones Encontrados), the US and other various cities in Europe, including France where it’s been playing for these past 22 weeks since its April release (according to Ajay’s description box).

It’s now landing in Indian theaters on September 23rd, presented by none other than Ajay Devgn (formerly Devgan), who is now more known for his massy flicks. But it’s great he’s pushing for the release of Parched— it’s been already played nearly 2M times, while the original trailer uploaded by Wolfe Video uploaded four months ago has barely 45k views. That one is a different trailer cut and does contain English subtitles if you are interested~

There’s also an alternate (NSFW) cut of the trailer on the Palm Springs Film Festival channel that has 500k views.

The film follows the story of a group of women; Rani (Tannishtha Chatterjee), Lajjo (Radhika Apte), Bijli (Surveen Chawla) and Janaki (Lehar Khan); who discuss issues of life, men and sex as they struggle with their boundaries and inner turmoil, set in the heart of the parched rural landscape of Rajasthan.

Sayani Gupta and Adil Hussain also star.
