Lawless Trailer

Here’s the first official trailer for John Hillcoat’s Lawless.

Baased on the novel The Wettest Country in the World by Matt Bondurant, Lawless follows the Bondurant brothers (Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy and Jason Clarke), who find their bootlegging business under threat in Prohibition-era Franklin County, Virginia. The brothers have to contend with a ruthless gangster (Gary Oldman) and a crooked sheriff (Guy Pierce), who team up to do the boys harm.

The cast also includes Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain and Dane DeHaan.

Lawless has been selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. The film will get a wide release on August 31, 2012.
