In Time Trailer

As if the year hasn’t been packed full of sci-fi features, Andrew Niccol — writer-director of Gattaca and Lord of War — brings us what seems to be an interesting new thriller with a nice mix of cast members.

In Time deals with a dystopian society in which the aging gene has been turned off at 25 and time functions as currency. A cup of coffee will cost you four minutes and running out of time will cost your life.

Although the cast selection — including Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Vincent Kartheiser, Cillian Murphy, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew Bomer, Olivia Wilde, and Johnny Galecki — may seem to go for celebrity appeal, the performances in the lengthy trailer already seem to convince me that this will be worth the watch.

In Time will be released on October 28th, 2011.

    I kind of like the time concept (and I love Gattaca), but why do I get the feeling the whole movie is in this? This is not a trailer, right? It’s a complete… at least, huge chunk. xD

    Also… I’m going to have to sit through Justin Timberlake acting??? xD

      @amy, It’s like a super trailer lol. I think they did give away a little /too/ much, but I’m sure there’s plenty more we don’t know about. And I kind of like JT’s acting so I’m hoping this will improve him for me.

      PLUS VINCENT + CILLIAN COME ON WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR

        @Juan Barquin, also… Amanda Seyfried has kinda fallen from grace for me. xD – Anyway, I don’t even know if this will make it to theaters here. I mean, it’s Fox… but sometimes they take ages before they decide to release these films outside the US.

        Did you find if this is going to be just a US release? xD

          @amy, According to IMDB, Peru is getting In Time for November 3.

          @rodrigo, really?

          If the reviews are extra good, I’ll consider checking it out… maybe in a press screening… a la Planet of the Apes. LOL I mean, Gattaca is one of my faves… the only thing I’m going against here is Timberlake. xD

          @amy, I don’t have a problem with Timberlake as an actor; as long as it keeps him away from re-starting his singing career, good – I didn’t thought he was shitty, but his fanbase was extremely annoying. What if he really, really loved acting more than singing for all we know?

        • amy says:

          @rodrigo, i doubt he really REALLY loved acting. He just probably makes more money acting… and he strokes his ego. His acting is pretty weak, he can’t but play Timberlake with different names, and it only sorta works for him in comedies.

          @amy, Thought he was good on TSN, but that’s just me. I think In Time will be hti or miss, but if he gets rave reviews, he could Wahlberg around and keep himself on the acting fiedl while maybe end up as a producer like Timbaland.

          @rodrigo, I actually felt he was the weakest link in TSN. I felt he was playing a version of himself, but his character worked because he was such an asshole. LOL
