Immortals Trailer 2

From the brilliant visual mind of Tarsem Singh — and as the trailer likes to point out, the producers of 300 — comes this epic fantasy battle in which King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) declares war against humanity and plans to unleash the Titans, reigning chaos on our world and annihilating the Gods who, by law, can’t meddle with human affairs.

As things with the Gods always go, Zeus secretly chooses Theseus (Henry Cavill), a peasant, to save his people who with a priestess (Freida Pinto) and a cunning slave (Stephen Dorff) lead the uprising.

The film also stars John Hurt, Luke Evans, Kellan Lutz, and Isabel Lucas.

To be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with Singh. I do love his visuals, but depending on the story, I find it the most exciting thing I’ve ever seen or the most boring — I have even fallen asleep in one of his films. I will let you speculate which one is which.

Immortals sounds like Clash of the Titans meets 300 meets Troy… meets Rise of the Planet of the Apes (LOL!) — It’s the uprising and Freida Pinto connection. In short, it sounds more bad than good…

Immortals opens in the US (Japan, UK, the Netherlands, India, Italy, etc. — but not worldwide) on November 11th 2011. I do love numerology.

The fuck….. was Orlando Bloom busy? Lol jk/jk
*sighs* Again Hollywood messing up with my mytologi. Have I ever told you that I have read every single one of them? Greek and Roman ones. Not the children edited version, but the real fucking deal?
So I am all, sure make movies of them. They are after all some kick ass stories. But fuck, is it so hard to get it right? It’s like they are pissing on history.

Not really sure what to make of this. It seems really cheesy (Cavill trying to rouse up the troops ugh) but some of the visuals are interesting-looking (the canvas with the battle on it)

@Castor, well you can count on Tarsem to give you visuals. I hope it stays a bit away from 300 visuals, but I’d be interested in seeing what Tarsem was let to work with. I don’t care much for the casting either… it’s not like Rourke would get my butt on a seat.

@Castor, I would watch it for the visuals but weep for the storyline T_T
