Freeheld (2015) Trailer

The first trailer to Peter Sollett’s Freeheld is out, starring Julianne Moore and Ellen Page as New Jersey lesbian couple Laurel Hester and Stacie Andree, who found themselves in the spotlight when Laurel (diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer) wasn’t allowed to leave her police officer pension to Stacie, like all her heterosexual police officers would in the case of their deaths.

The story was documented in the Oscar-winning short documentary of the same name.

The cast of Freeheld (2015) is rounded up by Steve Carell, Michael Shannon, Luke Grimes, Josh Charles, Mary Birdsong and Kelly Deadmon.

The film is set for release on October 2nd, ready for the Fall Season.
