Detachment is a chronicle of three weeks in the lives of several high school teachers, administrators and students through the eyes of a substitute teacher named Henry Barthes (Brody). Henry roams from school to school, imparting modes of knowledge, but never staying long enough to form any semblance of sentient attachment.

However, Henry’s method of imparting vital knowledge onto his temporary students is interrupted by the arrival of three women in his life.

The cast includes Lucy Liu, Christina Hendricks, Marcia Gay Harden, James Caan, Bryan Cranston, William Petersen, Sami Gayle, Blythe Danner and Tim Blake Nelson. Detachment premiered during the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival and is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 16, 2012.
