Oh, look! The creepy sequel to 50 First Dates.
Bad joke aside, the film is an adaptation of the 2011 novel by S.J. Watson about a woman suffering from anterograde amnesia, whom we follow as she tries to reconstruct her memory from a journal she keeps. Some people are saying it’s more like Memento.
Adapted to the screen and directed by Rowan Joffe, Before I Go to Sleep is a UK production that stars Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong. If we go by casting directors, Mark Strong is the bad guy, but don’t take me serious- I haven’t read the book.
The film is set to open this fall (August, September), prime time for movies like this.
