A Letter to Momo Trailer
From the mind and hand of Hiroyuki Okiura — known for Jin-Ro as well as being an animator on Paprika and Metropolis — comes A Letter to Momo (ももへの手紙), an animated film that has been years in the making.
A Letter to Momo follows Momo (Karen Miyama), a young girl who’s dealing with the recent death of her father, who left her a letter with only the words “Dear Momo.” Momo and her mother move from the bustling energy of Tokyo to the quiet remote island of Shio where she meets the different people that inhabit the place and learns their customs.
Not long after, bizarre things begin happening and Momo wants to find out who’s behind this mischief.
A Letter to Momo premiered at the 2011 Toronto Film Festival, and is set to make its Japanese debut on April 2012.
