SingerSen – Blue Jellyfish
My new favorite pixie SingerSen has just dropped her latest single from her album The World in My Eyes. Directed by Steve Woo (whose credits include film The Break-Up Artist, Maggie Q’s The King of Fighters, Simon Yam’s Cross, and Fen Shu De Ren) Blue Jellyfish is indicative of the type of electric earthiness of the entire album. This bold contradiction of elements is what has me fawning over the enigmatic singer like a high schooler.
Admittedly, the video feels familiar — a bit of Bjork’s Oceania in the coloring and beautiful sea creature trope. However, that doesn’t stop me from being completely blown away with SingerSen’s purity and absolute beauty in this video. And Steve Woo’s gorgeous use of texture and explosive lighting definitely makes this a unique and almost sensual viewing experience.
