Salyu – Tadano Tomodachi

The concept to Salyu’s vocal experimental project s(o)un(d) beams, out on March 23rd 2011 — in which she is credited as salyu x salyu and is produced by Cornelius (a.k.a. Keigo Oyamada) — is furthered with the video for the first single Tadano Tomodachi (ただのともだち), shot on a simple green screen and puts Salyu singing with three other Salyus.

There’s a special Google Chrome Music Mixer version, which prompts for pop-up windows with different footage of Salyu vocalizing.

Head over here and hit “play”.

For the rest of us, you can listen and watch the edited video version~

I am loving this concept, and loving the song. Already pre-ordered the album… I think Salyu is one of the few artists whom I trust enough to be able to pre-order stuff from.

@Jenna, you should check her out as Lily Chou Chou (Salyu’s persona in the movie All About Lily Chou Chou), and then check her out as Salyu to see how broad her range is. Except from the fact that she just began writing some of her stuff, musically she reminds me a lot to Bjork.
