Miss A – Touch
This is what I call one heck of a Kpop production.
Because it dares to be different, because it dares to be innovative, because it dares to stand out.
Since Miss A debuted last year, I’ve always found them to do music that is different from everybody else in the Korean music scene. I find them to be a breath of fresh air and I have loved all their singles. This single? It’s blowing my mind.
The reception of the song and music video has been pretty divided in the social medias. Some find the video to be great, some don’t get the choreography (personally, I am over the moon about it), some find the song to be a bit boring/lame and some are confused I guess.
Whatever it is, this can’t be disregarded.
The set in which they’re lying on the flowers … sigh. Beautiful women.
@thea, Everything about the music video is so beautiful. I am fawning over the gothic feel to it all, it’s just so right.
x) I didn’t like the song that much. Then again, I’ve only listen to two Miss A songs, but I liked them both. The video is okay… I did like their mummy-like outfits LOL it created a contrast with some of those angular dancing
I dig the song and the girls’ voices. There’s a maturity in it that I really don’t find in most Kpop girl groups, I’m sad to say. I mostly see sticky sweet in Kpop and that shit gets old… QUICKLY. But I like the tone of this group… mature, almost earthy.
I dig the video… I was really stoked when the beginning of the video started with the kaleidoscopic intro and the sort of industrial music. I actually thought that was the song and got REALLY irrationally excited… HaHa.
I dig the choreo, but I don’t know how I feel about the execution. I think the girl who hits it the hardest is the girl that starts signing her bit at about 2:15. I don’t know any names or anything… so hopefully you know who I’m talking about… HaHa.
It’s a good all-round experience, I must say. I don’t know anything about Miss A, but if this song is any indication, I’m thinking they’re a pretty good group. I think the girl group I’ve got the most love for is BEG… they’re voices and their ferocity… SO THICK! Love it! But, Miss A seems to be a contender in that department.
@Camiele, dude. Listen to Brown Eyed Girls discography xD their first two albums are pure vocal ballads. Not surprising they didn’t hit it big until their 3rd album for Abracadabra… and though the production of it is distracting, they brought it back with Sixth Sense album.
@amy, I might have to. I mean, the only thing I’ve actually heard from them is Abracadabra. Wait, no. I first heard Sixth Sense and I was all… THESE bitches… SO FIERCE O.O
I’ll have to check out some of their stuff. I really like the way their voices blend and how mature they sound. Refreshing, really.
@Camiele, I saw them first in Abracadabra, and thought – this is pretty fierce. I got hold of their first albums, and was actually kinda taken aback by how different they were in style (musically or look, LOL).
Sixth Sense just made their whole concept just click. They look fierce in it, and they sound amazing. They also happen to be women – 3 out of 4 in theirs 30s… so they’re not trying to be anything, they just are ;O

But, you’re right, it’s their maturity and their sound that just knocks you off your feet. That’s what I’d like to see more of in Kpop… just good, old fashion singing. But, of course, I’m not one to pass judgement seeing as my only REAL experience is DBSK (in all their permutations). Good old fashioned singing and dancing, but that’s about it as far as my experience goes… HaHa.
@Camiele, hahaha. On first impressions, Ga In was my favorite too. Now, however, I have a new found respect for JeA. I like them all equally if that is even possible. If you YouTube “arirangworld brown eyed girls” they have an subbed chilled interview with the girls and they sing a kickass simple vocal version of Candy Man. They’re amazing. LOL
