Madonna – Give Me All Your Luvin’
I’ll start this by admitting to you that I really L-U-V Madonna. I’ve been pretty pumped for her upcoming twelfth album, MDNA, and the release of Give Me All Your Luvin’ has bumped up my excitement quite a lot. Sadly, we all have to wait until March 26th to hear the rest of the songs (except for Masterpiece, which can be heard on the soundtrack for her second film, W.E.).
Earlier this month, on the same date that the Give Me all Your Luvin’ single debuted, Madonna released her music video for the song. The video is directed by Megaforce, who have directed some very interesting videos over the years. Without further ado, here’s her new video!
How could anyone deny this woman is the Queen of Pop? I mean, 29 years after her first album (that’s since Meryl Streep last won an Oscar — to put things in perspective), she’s still looking hot and kicking her competition’s ass. The somewhat abstract football scenario for the music video is so fitting, as she is not only performing at the Super Bowl tonight, but she has a heavy arsenal of fans ready to support her at any time.
Even though the video is full of entertaining moments, it has its fair share of downright weird. This could be all be attributed to Megaforce or seen as Madonna’s way of keeping up with the strange videos that others have been putting out. My money is on the former — especially with the somewhat terrifying anime cheerleader fembots that are featured.
The only real fault in the video has to be that tiny segment in which Madonna, M.I.A., and Nicki Minaj all don some very Like A Virgin-esque outfits that remind us of a very different time in the Queen’s career. Nicki and M.I.A. are both looking fine as can be in their cheerleading scenes, but I can’t say this scene wasn’t somewhat out of place for me.
I personally prefer the demo, which just features Madonna solo, but the video is plenty of fun and I’m definitely a fan.
