Lou Reed & Metallica – The View
I’m sure most of you have heard many things about Lulu, the collaboration album between Lou Reed and Metallica. But would you believe me if I told you that Darren Aronofsky, the Oscar-nominated director behind The Wrestler and Black Swan, directed the music video for The View?
The video, shot in black and white a la Pi (π) — Aronofsky’s debut film — opens with Lou Reed and the band arriving to the studio. As the guys start to jam, the video becomes blurry and disorienting. Personally, I’d say this was a decent effort from Darren who made the best sense and use of song. However, he could have done much better considering the works he has done before.
