Jolin Tsai – Dr. Jolin

Jolin Tsai releases her third single from her 12th album MUSE, following the release of The Great Artist [MV] and Wandering Poet (詩人漫步) [MV] (directed by Zhong Ping Huang).

The song, simply titled Dr. Jolin, has Tsai in an electropop, dance friendly track wearing a variety of hairstyles and colors, as well as a pretty naughty Doctor’s outfit with a spike bra. The backgrounds, filled with minimalist-manor or white clinic-like stages and sometimes hot pink stages, surround Tsai as she dances with her male nurses — who are in naughty hot nurse outfits and high heels.

Yes, male nurses in naughty hot nurse outfits.

Then she also has a couple waiting to have their “paternity check up” with the father pregnant all clad in a kinky leather outfit, waiting with his equally leathery-clad wife. As Dr. Jolin checks up on them, she also makes a suspiciously looking Pepsi serum to make sad people… happy? This may not be LGBT, but it’s pretty gender-bending.

I’m still not sold on her dancing skill, but I like the hand thing when the chorus goes “Lo-oh-oh-oh-ove, lo-oh-oh-oh-ove.” And as she says in the song, “love is love.” Can’t deny that.

This quite bizarre video probably comes from the mind of Tsai [1] herself with MV director Lai Wei Kang (賴偉康) at the helm. Kang has previously worked with the likes of Bibi Zhou, Mavis Fan, Stefanie Sun, Faye Wong, Rainie Yang, Liu Huan, Song Zuying, Jay Chou, JJ Lin, Alan, Show Luo, S.H.E, Leehom Wang, Elva Hsiao, Amber Kuo, Jane Zhang, and several times with Jolin Tsai as well.
