IU x Seo Taiji – Sogyeok-dong

About a week ago, it was announced that Seo Taiji would be collaborating with IU to excitement (and some cringing) from fans. Well, the wait was over today with the release of Sogyeok-dong (소격동) which refers to a central neighborhood in South Korea, home to a military agency that forced college students to undertake moral education during the 80s.

The song was written and composed by Seo, with main vocals by IU against an ethereal synth in contrast with the uncertain destiny set for the boy and the girl in the video. Subtitles in English are available.

The song has already swept South Korean music charts over the weekend, and a Seo Taiji version of the song/video is expected to be released by the end of the week.

There’s also an upload on Seo Taiji’s channel.

You can already get the single on iTunes.
