Darren Hayes – Black Out the Sun

The third official single has been released for Darren Hayes’ upcoming fourth album entitled Secret Codes and Battleships. The album is set for an October 2nd release. Following Talk Talk Talk [MV] and the recent audio release for Bloodstained Heart [1] — which will be the official second single in Australia — Black Out the Sun was directed by Australian MV director Grant Marshall, who previously worked with Hayes when he released Crush (1980 Me) [MV] and I Miss You [MV] for his solo debut album Spin in 2003. Hayes worked on the video treatment and headed over to his hometown of Brisbane where he and Marshall shot the video.

“[I had this] idea that you could simply switch the sun off and the ground would turn to poison because all the things that made it beautiful were really in the reflection of the eyes of the person you’ve lost,”

This isn’t bad, considering his We Are Smug project was nothing to be smug about.
