C.J. Lewis – Genie (cover)

This was too amazing not to share. You guys know about SNSD/Girls Generation? They have just released their first full-length album in Japan.

I’m not really sure what this is because the info is very scarce. But it was released through Universal Music Japan’s official YouTube channel, so it is legit.

C.J. Lewis does an English cover of SNSD’s Genie.

Ok, so I must say, this is not that bad. I really like it. I hope that it is the SNSD girls singing the chorus. How cool would that be?

A quick search about C.J. Lewis tell us that he is a British reggae singer. His biggest hit single was the 1994 cover version of Sweets for My Sweet. Seems like he is somewhat active in Japan, although Universal Music Japan’s site doesn’t tell us much.

For whatever reason, this is one very unexpected and fun cover. I hope he covers Gee!
