Arctic Monkeys – Do I Wanna Know?

Just a day ago, Arctic Monkeys has released a new single (along with an animated video) titled Do I Wanna Know?, which at first hear reminded me of last year’s single R U Mine? [MV] while at the same time reminding me of The Black Keys thanks to its heavy guitar and slower tone.

The video was directed by David Wilson, who was also in charge of the artwork for this song and also directed Passion Pit’s Take a Walk [MV] last year. You can check out his work here.

Apparently, the Monkeys are set to release a fifth studio album sometime this year, but I wanna know when. Even if this song isn’t my fancy at the moment — this might grow — I would still listen to what the band can offer despite their drastic changes which has been ongoing since their third album Humbug.

@amy, I haven’t listened to Humbug in a long while. For AM songs, I have from the first two, a couple of the fourth album, R U Mine and then I skip Humbug.

    • @amy, aw man ever since 2009 I’m like, am I the only one who likes Humbug? at least quite a few songs from it. “The Fire and the Thud” is my favorite. This new song is eh ok but I like it better than anything on Suck It and See.

@Diandra Rodriguez, don’t blame it. It is now VERY seldom that I like a second album of a band. And even more rare that I stick around for the third one. I don’t think I listen to anything I used to listen to from 5 years ago.
