My Favorite Food TV~

Narda Lepes

Narda Lepes is an Argentinean chef, who also happens to work for Canal Gourmet, though, she’s been working with Utilisima Satelital since 2010. But apparently she’s going back to Canal Gourmet this month with… *drum roll* Gourmet Escandinavia con Narda (Scandinavian Gourmet with Narda).

The string of shows and television specials she’s hosted are usually multi-cultural — she can pretty much talk about Arepas, Moroccan Couscous, make vegetarian pizza, and travel all the way to London to check out the latest of its gastronomy. Though, my mother would faint while seeing Narda’s use of butter and cheese in Wonton soup [1], I gotta admit that Narda’s shows (and special guest appearances) are very educational.

The way she handles herself around the kitchen is very inviting, chit-chatting about the cultural background of a dish while she’s whipping up some quick meal, explaining the use of a certain ingredient, or the different names throughout Latin America. All that while dropping some jokes around to make you feel at home.

Dude, she even outshone the hosts when guesting on Peru Fusion:

This is Part 2.

Adam Richman

When we’re talking about food, I gotta be one of the dudes. It’s Man Vs. Food!!!

And it isn’t that I crave the amount of food he’s chugging into his mouth, and howling like a sports fan for Richman to finish his last bite of whatever multi-layered, cholesterol-ridden sandwich — though, I wouldn’t mind a cholesterol-ridden, bite-size especially if it has some bacon and any other type of meat. Heavy, but bite-size, you know?

Seriously, the last time I had McDonalds, I felt my heart thumping, so I stopped doing it. xD

Anyway, my addiction to Man Vs. Food seems to be simply of the “what other crazy challenge do these people have???” Though, some of them underwhelm me (like the milkshake and burger one), I was really amused by the episode with the 10-spicy-temaki [1] challenge, because I love temaki — though, I think I can only eat two of them, maybe three cones if I push it.

Also, I’ll take half the hot dog he’s having.

    Wth, you stole my idea!

Nigella foreverrrrrrrrrr that woman is just so HOT!

We have some really great Swedish tv-chefs: Tina Nordstöm and Leila Lindholm. Those are my two favorites.

@Julyssa, I so didn’t. You said you were writing an ode to Nigella, and I was already writing my post then.

        @amy,
“But Nigella cooks like most of us. She’s not glamorous and often tells us that she’s lazy”

My friend, I beg to disagree with the first part of your statement. If this woman is not the embodiment of glamour and sensuality I don’t know who is. I wish I looked a tenth like her when cooking.

I am a total Nigella FANATIC. So I’m glad to see her featured here ;)

@Echydo, yeah. I know, but she doesn’t spend 6hrs cooking pork telling us that’s the way to do pork, instead she’ll probably pick up a pack of pancetta and do it in a way that she’ll tell us “it’s just as good as cooking pork for six hours in the oven.” xD

  2. oh gosh. all the food shows. I finished the first season of Around the World in 80 Plates recently and I liked that they had to try and make local cuisine with locals judging the results.
