My Favorite Food TV~

James Cunningham

To tell you the truth, I don’t even care much for Cunningham, but dude! Eat St. is what it’s all about. One has to have a love/hate relationship with eating food out in the street — not necessarily from a truck. If portions are too big, they’re a hassle to go through them without looking like a pig. And if portions are too tiny, well… they’re unsatisfying.

Whether your a food truck, a simple take-out place, or just a window. Trust me, I’ve eaten food from just a window~ it’s got to be all about delicious food. As a designer, I know I should care about your brand, but~ come on! If you’re food is delicious, I’m not gonna care if you’re using Comic Sans on your logo and/or menu.

I also thinking eating in the streets — whether it’s a complete meal, a sandwich or just snacks — is all about food memories. One of my food memories is the smell (and taste) of candied peanuts made on the street.

Ted Allen

I couldn’t stand Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, but I can’t deny that Ted Allen seems to pop up in most my Food TV viewing. Despite my not being a HUGE Iron Chef America fan (I’m an Iron Chef with funny English-dub kinda girl xD), I kinda enjoy the slight thrill that Chopped gives me every time I see what ingredients contestants must use.

I have literally no idea what to do with those.

My guiltiest Ted Allen guilty pleasure, though, has to be Food Detectives. It fills the void of my Beakman’s World heart… kinda. It’s not Mythbusters, but I’ll take it.

    Wth, you stole my idea!

    Nigella foreverrrrrrrrrr that woman is just so HOT!

    We have some really great Swedish tv-chefs: Tina Nordstöm and Leila Lindholm. Those are my two favorites.

      @Julyssa, I so didn’t. You said you were writing an ode to Nigella, and I was already writing my post then.

        @amy,
        “But Nigella cooks like most of us. She’s not glamorous and often tells us that she’s lazy”

        My friend, I beg to disagree with the first part of your statement. If this woman is not the embodiment of glamour and sensuality I don’t know who is. I wish I looked a tenth like her when cooking.

        I am a total Nigella FANATIC. So I’m glad to see her featured here ;)

          @Echydo, yeah. I know, but she doesn’t spend 6hrs cooking pork telling us that’s the way to do pork, instead she’ll probably pick up a pack of pancetta and do it in a way that she’ll tell us “it’s just as good as cooking pork for six hours in the oven.” xD

  2. oh gosh. all the food shows. I finished the first season of Around the World in 80 Plates recently and I liked that they had to try and make local cuisine with locals judging the results.
